Music Meets Runway

The organizers of Music Meets Runway (MMR) have confirmed the names of Naeto C, Iyanya, Omo Baba Olowo Crooner, Davido, new kid on the block, BurnaBoy and EME star, Wizkid as part of the stars that would grace the stage when the MMR returns this year on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos but have kept mum on the remaining seven.

 

Music Meets Runway is the production of Le Reve Events, a platform that allows the smooth fusion of music and runway fashion. The maiden edition held at the same venue last year and was adjudged the most successful fashion and music event of 2011.

 

10 artistes and 10 designers are billed to entertain and exhibit respectively but only nine out of the ten designers have so far been unveiled by the organizers while the likes of music superstars Naeto C, Iyanya,  Davido, Wizkid and BurnaBoy have also been unveiled with the remaining five to be known before the event’s date. It would be recalled that Davido was discovered on the platform of the MMR last year as that was the first public outing he made.

 

Many industry stakeholders have been busy predicting and speculating about the possible names of the remaining five artistes as Dbanj, Banky W, 2face Idibia, M.I, Ice Prince, Waje, Omawumi, Tonto Dike, Lynxxx, Olamide, Chuddy K have all been mentioned but the organizers are not in a hurry to reveal the remaining.

 

When Jennifer Olize, the convener of MMR was recently asked about the possibility of having the aforementioned names perform at the event, she said ‘’These artistes are some of the biggest names in the industry but we are not in a hurry to reveal the names of the remaining five artistes, we appreciate the speculations going around, please keep them coming’’.

 

‘’This year’s event will be spectacular as the 10 designers and 10 artistes would headline the event.
